Zootopia 2 has become the highest-grossing Hollywood film in China with $632.2 million in 61 days, beating Avengers: Endgame’s $632.1 million run in 2019.
This was after the film grossed $3.8 million in the market for what is the biggest 9th 3-day weekend ever for Hollywood in China and a 26.9% drop from last weekend, according to box office analyst, Luiz Fernando.
Globally, Zootopia 2 continues to dominate. The film has now overtaken Inside Out 2 to become the second-highest-grossing animated film of all time, trailing only China’s Ne Zha 2 ($2.2 billion).
It also stands as Hollywood’s highest-grossing animated release ever, with a $1.74 billion global cume, including $1.34 billion overseas and $401 million in North America, ranking it as the ninth highest-grossing film in global box office history.
Domestically, Zootopia 2 has also rewritten records, surpassing Frozen to become the 12th highest-grossing animated film at the U.S. Box Office.
