“Amanyanabo: The Eagle King” Reunites Nollywood Veterans, To Debut in September
Amanyanabo: The Eagle King, an epic drama directed by Ibinabo Fiberesima and Fred Amata, is set to hit the cinema on September 12.
The movie portrays the life of Ibanichuka, the Amanyanabo of Okrika, a Kingdom located in Rivers State, Southern Nigeria. It follows his journey from childhood through adulthood, including his ascension as a king.

The film, based on the true events and characters of the Okrika people in Nigeria also showcases the richness of Nigeria’s tradition and culture.

Amanyanabo: The Eagle King was shot in the creeks and marshland of Okrika by Peter Kriel, an Austrian-born cinematographer known for his work in Amina (2021).
The epic features notable Nollywood veterans including Fiberesima, Colombus Irosanga, Monalisa Chinda Coker, Soibifaa Dokubo, Gentle Jack, Walter Anga and Nkem Owoh.

Other notable cast members include Patrick Diabuah, Ovunda Ihunwo, Sonny McDon, Uju Okoli, Lucien Morgan, Emmanuel Oluwatunmise, Izuchukwu Ezeokoli, and Qwekumalhi Ikenna Onyekwena.
