Celine Song’s upcoming feature “Materialists” is set for theatrical release on June 13, 2025, marking the director’s first project since her award-winning debut “Past Lives.”
The romantic comedy follows a New York City matchmaker navigating the emotional fallout of a complicated love triangle—torn between a new partner and unresolved feelings for an ex.
“Materialists” stars Dakota Johnson in the lead, alongside Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans. The supporting cast includes Zoe Winters, Marin Ireland, Dasha Nekrasova, Louisa Jacobson, and Sawyer Spielberg.

Written, directed, and produced by Song, the film was developed by A24 and completed principal photography in mid-2024. A24 will handle the domestic rollout, while Sony Pictures Releasing oversees the international release.
The film arrives on the heels of Song’s critically acclaimed “Past Lives,” which earned two Academy Awards and five Golden Globe wins in 2023.
