First Features Project Introduces Wingonia Ikpi’s Debut Film, “The Lost Days”
The First Features Project has unveiled its ninth film, “The Lost Days”, a family drama written by Abdul TJ and Paul S. Rowlston, and directed by Wingonia Ikpi in her feature debut. The film will premiere on July 11, 2025, exclusively on Prime Video.
Set in Abeokuta, “The Lost Days” follows Chisom, a wealthy woman recovering from cancer, who returns home after years of estrangement. Her goal is to reconnect with the family she once walked away from, but her sudden disappearance throws the household into emotional disarray, forcing everyone to reckon with unresolved pain.
The film stars Ifeoma Fafunwa—best known for her work in theatre—in her first on-screen role as Chisom. The cast also includes Bimbo Manuel as Baba Kola, her former lover; Cynthia Clarke as Nkem, her daughter; Baaj Adebule as Moses; and Durotimi Okutagidi as Kola.
Through its characters, “The Lost Days” examines how families deal with absence, regret, and attempts at repair. It asks whether time can truly mend old wounds or simply bury them deeper.
The project is produced by Steve Gukas, Dotun Olakunri, Chioma Ezeani, and Bola Atta under the First Features initiative, an industry-focused programme that supports emerging filmmakers in Nollywood.
For Ikpi, who comes from a background in talent management, the film marks a new step in her creative journey and contributes to the broader effort to amplify new voices in Nigerian cinema.
“The Lost Days” will begin streaming on Prime Video from July 11.
