“Midnight in Shangisha” Brings Dark Twists to Cinemas This Friday
A new Nollywood title, “Midnight in Shangisha,” is set to make its theatrical debut across Nigeria on Friday, July 4, 2025.
The upcoming release features a high-stakes storyline and an ensemble cast of respected veterans and rising talents.
Directed by Ben Chiadika and Sola Osofisan, the film follows a desperate job seeker who responds to a job offer sent to a borrowed phone. What begins as a hopeful interview, spirals into a nightmare when he discovers the position is for a contract killer—and his fiancée has been taken hostage by a hitman to secure his cooperation.
The suspense-driven plot is backed by performances from Sola Sobowale, Ireti Doyle, Tina Mba, Baaj Adebule, Lanre Adediwura, Antar Laniyan, and Martha Ehinome Orhiere.
The 102-minute feature blends drama and dark comedy while tackling themes of desperation, moral dilemmas, and survival.
“Midnight in Shangisha” was produced by Pen Pusher Productions and written by co-director Sola Osofisan.
The film will begin screening in select cinemas nationwide starting Friday.
