Ibrahim Chatta’s “Osoròngà (The Witches)” is making its way to streaming after its initial run in cinemas.
The film, produced under Realart Communications, will be available on Prime Video from April 4.
Chatta, who wrote, produced, and directed the project, has teased the film’s dark themes on his social media, hinting at a world steeped in mysticism.
Whilst sharing the film’s poster, Chatta wrote, “He ran because he had no other choice. He feared what would happen if he dared to stop. There was no time to think. There was barely any time for him to breathe. On his broken ankle, he ran. With his bruised arms, he ran. With his bleeding sides, he ran because he knew today was the day he was meant to die… A peep into d world of mystics, a peep into d world of witches and wizards.”
Starring Chatta himself alongside Odunlade Adekola, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Femi Adebayo, Bimbo Akintola, Faithia Williams, and Saheed Osupa, “Osoròngà” brings together some of Yoruba cinema’s most respected actors.
With its upcoming digital release, Chatta’s latest work will now be accessible to a wider audience beyond its theatrical debut.
