Nollywood’s upcoming action thriller, “Dead Tide,” is set for release on Friday, August 1, with screenings scheduled across major Nigerian cities including Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Enugu.

Directed by Soji Ogunnaike and produced by POV Films in collaboration with Rushing Tap Studios, the film presents a politically charged story centered around Itoro, a reformed Niger Delta militant who becomes entangled in a national crisis. His quiet life is upended when Sade, a social media influencer, records the President’s son committing a murder. As the footage spreads, both Itoro and Sade are forced into hiding, triggering a high-stakes manhunt that tests their will to survive.

The cast features Ikechukwu Onunaku, Mobimpe Adedimeji, Eniola Ajao, Uche Nwoko, Ibrahim Suleiman, Folu Storms, Tope Olowoniyan, William Benson, Victor Bekewei, and others.

“Dead Tide” blends political intrigue with action, setting itself apart from conventional Nollywood dramas. According to its creators, the film explores themes of justice, accountability, and the cost of silence in a digital age, using the action genre as a vehicle for a more urgent national conversation.

The film will be distributed by The Nile Media Entertainment Group, with screenings expected to continue through August in major theatres across the country.
