The film marks Kasum’s first release since “Reel Love” (2025) and his AMVCA Trailblazer Award win.
Nollywood director and AMVCA Trailblazer Award winner Kayode Kasum will return to cinemas on August 29, 2025, with his new film, “The Serpent Gift.”

Inspired by a true story, the drama follows a young widow who, after losing her husband, faces a different kind of battle—one against her in-laws, who are determined to claim everything he left behind.

The cast includes Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Chico Aligwekwe, Stan Nze, Tina Mba, Daniel Etim Effiong, Beverly Osu, Ric Hassani, Uche Chika Elumelu, and Inem King.
Produced by Winifred Nkiru Ajakpovi and Kasum, “The Serpent Gift” is written by Stephen Okonkwo and Hawk Eye, with distribution handled by Nile Entertainment.

According to the director, the film will address questions rarely asked within families and bring hidden tensions to light.
“The Serpent Gift” opens in cinemas nationwide on August 29, 2025.
