Osas Okonyon is set to lead Evi, an upcoming Afrobeats musical drama that centres on the often-overlooked challenges faced by women in the music and film industries.
She stars alongside Uzor Arukwe, Omowumi Dada, Ibrahim Suleiman, Waje Iruobe, Tomiwa Tegbe, and Femi Branch. Dada also serves as an executive producer on the project.
Written and directed by Uyoyou Adia, Evi marks a reunion between Adia and producer Judith Audu, following their previous collaboration on L.I.F.E (2024).
The film follows Evi-Oghene Donalds, a talented singer whose life takes a turn after her record label collapses. Forced to start over, she begins the process of rebuilding her career while navigating identity, loss, and the realities of the industry, with support from her manager and close circle.

Blending music with drama, Evi explores themes of ambition, resilience, survival, and personal growth. The production also takes a deliberate approach to its music, with original songs from the film compiled into an accompanying album, positioning it as one of the few Nollywood projects to fully embrace the musical format.
The film is produced by Judith Audu Productions, Switch Visuals Productions, Signet Rings Productions, and NOI Productions, with FilmOne Entertainment handling distribution.
Evi is scheduled for a nationwide cinema release on March 27.
