Ryan Coogler has released the second trailer for “Sinners”, his upcoming vampire thriller featuring Michael B. Jordan in a dual role.
The film, which blends elements of horror and Western themes, is set for an international premiere on April 16, 2025, followed by its Nigerian release on April 18. Warner Bros. Pictures is distributing the project.
The trailer presents Jordan as twin brothers who return to their hometown in search of a fresh start, only to find it overrun by supernatural entities. A voiceover states, “You keep dancing with the devil, and one day he’s gonna follow you home.”The official logline reads: “Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.”
The film features a diverse cast, including Miles Caton, Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, Li Jun Li, Delroy Lindo, Lola Kirke, Yao, Peter Dreimanis, Christopher Robinson, and Jermaine Mctizic.
Produced under Coogler’s Proximity Media, “Sinners” brings together his frequent collaborators, including cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw, production designer Hannah Beachler, editor Michael P. Shawver, composer Ludwig Göransson, and costume designer Ruth E. Carter.
Reports indicate that Coogler filmed “Sinners” entirely on 65mm, a decision influenced by Christopher Nolan. The film is produced by Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian, with Göransson, Will Greenfield, and Rebecca Cho as executive producers.
The trailer suggests that “Sinners” will explore more than just vampires, with additional supernatural elements hinted at throughout. Coogler’s latest project expands on his genre-blending approach while maintaining his focus on storytelling and visual style.
