Toka McBaror’s thriller The Creek is scheduled to premiere in Nigerian cinemas on March 27, 2026, with distribution handled by Blue Pictures.
The film is set in the Niger Delta and explores themes around power, loyalty, survival, and betrayal, within a narrative grounded in the realities of the region.
According to the production, The Creek follows a storyline that reflects tensions tied to justice, identity, and survival in a community shaped by conflict and resource struggles.
Directed by McBaror, the project has been in development for some time and was previously highlighted during a casting call in April 2025 that invited aspiring actors to participate in the production.
The film features an ensemble cast including Bucci Franklin, Sunshine Rosman, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Sam Dede, Kelechi Udegbe, Chinwe Owoh, and Charles Inojie.
McBaror has described the project in previous remarks as a personal effort developed over a challenging period, supported by collaborators across different stages of production.
With its release approaching, The Creek joins a growing slate of Nollywood titles set in the Niger Delta, a region that continues to serve as a backdrop for stories examining social and economic realities.
