There’s a horror story that has passed through the ears of every Nigerian child. They’ve heard it, their friends have heard it, and you have heard it too, but this isn’t the story of the invisible “Ojuju”. It’s the story of Madam Koi Koi. Whatever version you’ve heard, this character remains constant, and the setting stays the same.
Written, directed, and produced by Jay Franklyn, “Madam Koi Koi” takes us on a hair-raising adventure as we follow the remarkable story of a student who finds her new school weird and feels uneasy as she gets into the premises. The school is then led to believe that a certain Madam Koi Koi is back again.
As the legend goes, a ghoul once roamed boarding school grounds, feasting on the fears and bodies of those who dared to cross her path. Now, trapped within the walls of this school, the students and teachers alike must stop this female ghoul in her catwalk before it’s too late but first, what is her origin story? Find out!
This blend of nostalgia and horror will leave viewers hooked, terrified, and praying to their gods. Get ready to be thrilled as “The Origin: Madam Koi Koi”, a two-part film, hits Netflix on Oct.31.
