Fiyin Gambo is set to deliver his high-stakes sports drama The Other Side of the Bridge to cinemas on April 17.
Starring Tobi Bakre and Demi Banwo, the film centres on two fighters from opposite sides of Lagos—the Island and the Mainland. Femi (Banwo) is the privileged son of a retired senator, while Farouk (Bakre) is a street fighter from Surulere.
One has something to prove; the other has something to save. Their lives collide in a high-stakes boxing showdown. As their rivalry draws wider attention, the fight begins to carry not just personal stakes but broader social implications beyond the ring.

The ensemble cast also includes Gbubemi Ejeye, Olarotimi Fakunle, Femi Branch, Seyi Ajayi, Lasisi Elenu, Ireti Doyle, Teniola Aladese, Mike Afolarin, Williams Benson, and Taye Arimoro.
To capture the film’s grit and tension, cinematographer Ola Cardoso brings his experience from Suky (2025) and Hakeem: Seeking Justice (2025). The Other Side of the Bridge also marks a reunion for Bakre, Cardoso, and Gambo, following their collaboration on The Blood Covenant (2022).
Written by Tamara Aihie and Emil Garuba, the film explores themes of survival, identity, and socio-economic divide through its high-stakes championship fights. It is produced by Tolu ‘Lordtanner’ Awobiyi, Demi Banwo, and Adesegun Adetoro, and will be distributed by FilmOne Entertainment.
