Toke Makinwa Takes Center Stage in New Drama “The Shadow of Greed”

A gripping drama is coming to the stables of Nigerian cinemas. “The Shadow of Greed” will premiere in theaters nationwide on June 20, 2025.
Starring Toke Makinwa in her first leading role, the film follows a relentless corporate executive willing to go to any lengths to secure land for her ambitious building project. According to the official synopsis: “China meets Nigeria in this captivating drama where a deadly tussle of power and corruption threatens a once prosperous land.”
As a cross-cultural production, “The Shadow of Greed” features a diverse cast of Nigerian and Chinese actors, including Makinwa, Kent S. Leung, Olumide Oworu, Gabriel Afolayan, Chunmei Wang, Akin Lewis, Antar Laniyan, Tomiwa Tegbe, Jennifer Nsofor, Victoria Nwobodo, Jide Peniel, and Ifunaya Arinze.
Directed by Akay Mason and Produced by Tim McManus, the film is helmed by Kingsmen Entertainment, the emerging production house known for its Prime Video No. 1 film, “Move Like a Boss.”
