Asherkine? More like AsherKIND!

Often hailed as Nigeria’s “Mr. Beast” and an “all season Santa,” Lagos-born YouTuber, content creator, and philanthropist Akinyemi Oluwaseun Omotayo, popularly known as “Asherkine” continues to move mouths with each video he posts. And for good reason.

Meeting the 26-year-old has proved life-changing for some folks. His recent deeds on Friday, May 24, which he showcased in a heartwarming three-minute video, reaffirmed why.

Finding his way to a random local food market in Bariga, Lagos, he decided to invest in the so-called “rodo” (pepper) season by surprising two pepper stalls.

How? Through the usual Asherkine way: Buying out all their stock, giving it all away and treating the two women to a fantastic day out. He started by upgrading their wardrobes at a boutique, then their cupboards via grocery shopping at a Lekki Supermarket. Hair, skin and pedicure weren’t left out either.

Just as viewers’ hearts swelled with joy for the two women and the beneficiaries thought Asherkine was done for the day, he surprised them once more by asking for their immediate heart desires. As traders of perishable goods, it only seemed fitting that a refrigerator would top their wish list. And he fulfilled that by gifting them two double-door Nexus refrigerators.

He did this all the while transporting them in a luxury car.

As usual, his acts of kindness were met with an outpouring of love and prayers on social media. One commenter even claimed he puts more smiles on citizens’ faces than Nigeria’s dysfunctional government.

Besides Asher consuming raw pepper – an indication that he is a true son of the soil – the highlight of the video was when one of the women phoned a friend to assist her with shopkeeping in her absence. Netizens lauded this behavior as “standing on business,” demonstrating that a Nigerian never forgets his or her hustle no matter the situation.

A word of advice that couldn’t be missed in the comments was this: “to recreate Asher content go hard.” Considering he generously lifted at least N2 million off his huge pockets, nothing could be closer to the truth.

If he keeps up these acts, it won’t be long before he might have to change his name to AsherKIND.
