The Temi Otedola Approach to Dining With Style

There are generally three ways to eat swallow foods—with aggression like a father of four in the village, with the pace of every normal Nigerian, or biding your time with one mpm (molds-per-minute).

However, there is a fourth, more refined way—The Temi Otedola way, where elegance and composure reign Supreme throughout the dining process.

A trending video of the billionaire heiress gulping a combo of fufu and egusi (melon) soup has caught the interest of the internet for all the right reasons.

Temi adhered to all the dining etiquettes of British culture while maintaining her steeze, which should be the ultimate goal for anyone at the table.

For the average Nigerian, two cuts are even to gulp the palm-sized fufu, but Otedola is not the average Nigerian.

One hand in lap and the other on the prize, Temi cut the fufu into bite-size bits, dipping and scooping the appropriate measure of soup and leaning forward just enough to ensure a seamless delivery to her mouth.

Chic shades and the opulent backdrop of a spacious villa filled any potential gaps in steeze—if there were any, to begin with. Even the soup appeared expertly mashed, boasting uniform colors. It reminds me of the street adage: “Food is temporary, but the drip is eternal.”

That said, a video of Temi eating mangoes without getting sticky fingers or tearing a chicken lap would be interesting to see. Because, let’s face it, maintaining style in those situations is next to impossible.
