The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) has officially opened its call for entries for the 2025 edition of the continent’s most prestigious music celebration. Submissions will be accepted from May 27 to August 8, 2025.
Music professionals across Africa and the Diaspora—including artists, songwriters, producers, DJs, music video directors, entertainment journalists, and dancers—are invited to submit entries across 36 award categories, reflecting the richness of Africa’s five regions and its diverse music genres. Winners will receive AFRIMA’s delectable 23.9-carat gold-plated trophy, cementing their place in the history books of African music.
The adjudication process will take place from August 12 to 18, followed by the official nominee announcement on August 27. Public voting will follow on September 5 and run through November 28.
This year’s ceremony will be hosted in the vibrant city of Lagos, Nigeria, on November 30 and broadcast live across 109 channels in 84 countries, reaching a global audience of over 400 million viewers.

Before the main event, the event organizers—the African Union Commission (AUC) and the International Committee of AFRIMA— have planned the AFRIMA 2025 Awards Week (November 25 to 30) which will feature high-profile events like The Diamond Showcase, the Opening Soirée, AFRIMA Music Village, and the highly-anticipated Africa Music Business Summit.
Under the theme, “Unstoppable Africa,” the 2025 edition celebrates the growing resilience of the African continent in promoting its music beyond the perceived borders, especially with the emergence of Afrobeats as a global force.
The award show expects to attract over 1,600 nominees, 60,000 delegates, and 2,300 production crew members from across the continent, further solidifying its status as Africa’s biggest music event.
