The rapper’s second studio album arrives seven years after her debut, featuring chart-topping singles and a lead track stirring public attention.
The Grammy-winning rapper has announced that her long-awaited sophomore album, “Am I the Drama?”, will be released on September 19, 2025.
The reveal follows a string of social media teasers and press interviews in which she described the project as “7 years of love, life, and loss.”
Her last studio album, “Invasion of Privacy,”was released in 2018 and became an immediate cultural and commercial milestone. The debut spawned chart-topping singles like “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin. Certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA, the album made Cardi B the first female rapper to release a project with two No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.
Remarkably, “Am I the Drama?” has already helped Cardi B break another record—before its official release. Previously released singles “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion (2020) and “Up” (2021) are included in the album’s tracklist. Both songs reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and have been certified double platinum or higher.

With the inclusion of these older hits, Cardi B becomes the first female rapper to have two albums to generate at least two Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles each. Also, “Am I the Drama?” now has 2.1 billion cumulative streams on Spotify,
The new album is led by the promotional single “Outside,” which dropped on June 20, 2025. The track, widely interpreted as a diss aimed at her ex-husband Offset, marks a return.. The former couple, who split in 2023, have since engaged in a highly publicized legal and online feud.
“Outside” is already performing strongly on streaming platforms. It currently holds the No. 1 spot on Apple Music and is trending on Spotify.
Industry predictions suggest the single could debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, which would mark Cardi B’s sixth chart-topping single—and her fifth as a lead artist.
