Davido and Zinoleesky in Tight Race for No. 1 on Apple Nigeria Albums Chart

Davido and Zinoleesky are locked in a tight chart battle, with their latest albums—“5ive” and “Gen Z”—repeatedly trading the No. 1 spot on the Apple Music Nigeria Weekly Albums chart.

The chart rivalry began on April 18 when Davido’s surprise EP “5ive” debuted at No. 1, unseating Odumodublvck’s “The Machine is Coming.” A week later, on April 25, Zinoleesky’s debut album “Gen Z” overtook it. Since then, both projects have alternated at the top a record five times, matching the chart run of Rema’s “HEIS” and Seyi Vibez’s “Loseyi Professor” in mid-2024.

The momentum has swung back and forth. After a three-week stay at No. 1, “Gen Z” was briefly dethroned by “5ive” on May 17. The lead has changed hands twice more in the weeks that followed, highlighting strong digital streaming numbers for both artistes.

While the rivalry has sparked debates online, particularly among fans comparing the two artiste’ status, Zinoleesky’s debut continues to perform well across platforms. “Gen Z” remains in the top three on Spotify Nigeria, Audiomack, and Boomplay.
