This collaboration marks the first joint effort between the two artistes.
British rapper J Hus and Nigerian Afrobeats singer Asake have teamed up for their first collaboration, a new single titled “Gold.”
Accompanied by a visually striking black-and-white video, the track features J Hus’ signature road-rap delivery paired with Asake’s melodic Afrobeat style. J Hus opens with a sharp verse over an uptempo beat, while Asake handles the chorus and second verse with his trademark vocal layering.
Despite the monochrome palette, the video lives up to its title. Both artists appear in bold streetwear, adorned with gold chains and rings, echoing the line: “Everything I’m wearing is gold.”
The release marks J Hus’ return to the spotlight after a quiet stretch since his 2023 album “Beautiful and Brutal Yard,” which debuted at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart. The album included hits like “Who Told You” featuring Drake, and “Masculine” with Burna Boy.
Since its debut, “Gold” has gained strong traction online, with over 1.5 million YouTube views and 1.3 million Spotify streams. It also charted on the Ireland Apple Music chart, entering at No. 188.
