The year is steadily winding down, and as expected, the music roundups from major global streamers are beginning to roll in. Leading the charge is Apple Music with the release of its Africa Now: Best Songs of 2025 playlist.

Nigerian artistes dominate the list, with fourteen securing spots across the top ten—some even appearing more than once. Sitting comfortably at No. 1 is the African Giant himself, Burna Boy, with “Love,” a single already nominated for Best African Music Performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards. Another recent Grammy-nominated track, “With You” by Davido and Omah Lay, lands at No. 3.

Asake’s sleeper hit “Why Love” claims the No. 2 position, an unexpected mainstream success considering its minimal promotional push. At No. 4 is Rema’s “Baby (Is It A Crime),” the early-2025 smash that dominated Apple Music Nigeria for several non-consecutive weeks after its February release.

Rounding out the top five is breakout star Fola with “lost” featuring Kizz Daniel, a national hit that propelled his debut album catharsis to major chart success. Fola also occupies the No. 6 position with “Very Soon,” shared with collaborator BNXN. Street-hop crooner Seyi Vibez follows at No. 7 with “MARIO KART.”

Davido earns a second entry as a lead artiste with “Funds,” featuring ODUMODUBLVCK and Chike, at No. 8. Wizkid scores his first spot on the playlist with “Bad Girl” featuring Asake at No. 9, taken from his sixth studio album Morayo. Closing out the top ten is YBNL boss Olamide with “99,” which features Seyi Vibez, Asake, Young Jonn, and Daecolm.
