The deluxe version of Tyla’s self-titled debut album, Tyla+, has reached a new milestone on Spotify. The project has now surpassed 2.8 billion streams on the platform, placing it firmly in the history books as the second most streamed African album on Spotify.
The Grammy-winning artiste currently sits behind Rema’s Rave & Roses Ultra, which leads with over 3.2 billion streams, while Burna Boy’s Love, Damini ranks third with more than 1.5 billion cumulative streams.
Released on October 11, 2024, Tyla+ expanded on the success of the original album Tyla and produced standout tracks such as the Grammy-nominated single “Push 2 Start”, alongside fan favourites “Back to You” and “Shake Ah.”
Tyla, released on March 22, 2024, is home to multiple hit singles including “Art,” “Jump,” “Truth or Dare,” and the global smash “Water,” which won the inaugural Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance at the 2024 ceremony.
Songs from both the debut album and its deluxe edition continue to make waves on the charts years after their release, proving Tyla’s staying power as a global pop force.
“Water” has now spent an impressive 125 weeks on the Billboard U.S Afrobeats Songs chart, holding firm at No. 2, while “Push 2 Start” currently sits at No. 4 with 66 weeks on the chart.
