Accra Indie Filmfest has unveiled the official selection for its Talent Connect 2025 program, scheduled for August 7 in Accra, Ghana.
The announcement follows months of rigorous application reviews and evaluations.
Among the 12 shortlisted filmmakers is Nigerian-Ghanaian director Deborah Aduamah Okyerewa (“What Do You See”), who joins fellow participants Priscilla Kyeremah (“Unbroken”), Francis Milli (“Agogo”), Joewace Kusi (“No Brother for Lagos”), Hilda Afrakoma (“Jars”), Jacob Osae (“The Purging”), Esiawonam Adisenu (“Fine Flowers for Veronica”), Juniad Yakubu (“It’s Cold Outside”), Omar Owusu (“Brenya”), Agnes Eshun (“Class 3 Maame”), Nancy Addy Chichi (“Ntasentase”), and Najaat Hussein (“The Screens Have Been Silent”).
Okyerewa brings experience to the competition, having interned in the camera department of Idris Elba’s “Dust to Dreams” project. She is also known for her work on “Her Dark Past” and is an alumna of the MultiChoice Talent Factory.
The event will feature a closed-door pitch session where the 12 finalists will compete for two coveted spots. The winners will receive an opportunity to travel to France in 2026 to pitch their projects through a partnership with Creation Africa Ghana, a France-Ghana initiative.
A distinguished jury panel comprising filmmakers, producers, lecturers, and critics will evaluate the presentations. Members include Odolina Roussinov, Tony Asankomah, Thalmas, and Daphne Atsutse.
