“Adunni: Ogidan’ Binrin” Earns Official Selection at Vegas Movie Awards
“Adunni: Ogidan’ Binrin” has been officially selected for the Vegas Independent Film Awards—also known as the Vegas Movie Awards (VMA)—one of the fastest-growing and internationally recognized festivals celebrating both emerging and established filmmakers. The 2025 edition of the festival, set to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, will spotlight the film as part of its curated lineup showcasing global cinematic excellence.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Yemi Amodu, the film is a contemporary tale rooted in heritage, womanhood, and resistance. It follows the story of Adunni, played by Funmi Ogidan-Bello — a fearless barrister and freedom fighter determined to confront tyranny and restore justice in a society ruled by a brutal regime.
The film’s ensemble cast includes Nancy Isime, Lateef Adedimeji, Odunlade Adekola, Keppy Ekpenyong, Iyabo Ojo, Tina Mba, Muyiwa Ademola, Patrick Doyle, Jide Kosoko, and Afeez Oyetoro. Produced by Ogidan-Bello, the film is distributed by Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution and has been lauded as a bold statement on oppression, power, and the enduring will to resist.

This latest recognition places “Adunni: Ogidan’ Binrin” on a global stage, aligning it with past Vegas Movie Awards honorees that have included Academy, Golden Globe, Emmy, and BAFTA-winning films and talent. The VMA, also an IMDb-recognized qualifier, continues to champion independent voices and exceptional storytelling across more than 80 countries.
With early bird, regular, and final submission deadlines running through September 2025, the VMA continues to serve as a premier platform for films aiming for global relevance and artistic impact.
