The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) will unveil nominees for its 2026 edition on March 29.
Organisers confirmed the date on X, also announcing Nollywood actor Chimezie Imo as host of the nominations event.
Imo, who received the AMVCA Trailblazer Award in 2024, is known for his role in Breath of Life. He joins a list of past hosts that includes IK Osakioduwa, Toke Makinwa, Bonang Matheba, and Nancy Isime.
Entries for the 2026 awards closed on February 15, following a submission window for film and television projects released between January 1 and December 31, 2025.

The nominations will highlight projects competing across the award categories for the upcoming edition.
The 12th AMVCA will feature 32 categories, including jury-decided and audience voting awards, alongside special honours such as Lifetime Achievement and Trailblazer. New categories for Best Indigenous Language films in North Africa and Central Africa have also been introduced.
The award ceremony is scheduled to hold in May 2026.
