Africa Magic Unveils New Limited Series “My Fairytale Wedding”

Africa Magic, under the MultiChoice Group, has announced the release of its latest limited series “My Fairytale Wedding”, set to premiere on October 20, 2024.
The announcement was made during the 2024 FAME Week Africa event in Cape Town, South Africa.
The romantic comedy follows the story of a young woman determined to get the man of her dreams by any means necessary. Instead of waiting for love, she turns to the spiritual power of “kayamata”—a sexual charm popularly believed to influence romantic attraction.
Described as a mix of “love, laughter, and a sprinkle of magic,” the series offers a fresh take on classic fairy tales, reimagined with African themes and set against the lively backdrop of Lagos, Nigeria.
Directed by Dimeji Ajibola and produced by Chineye Nworah, “My Fairytale Wedding” features a stellar Nollywood cast, including Uzor Arukwe, Lilian Esoro, Ramsey Nouah, Carolina Hutchings, Ini Edo, Mercy Eke, Tina Mba, Ayo Mogaji, Daniel Etim, and Kanayo O. Kanayo.
Principal photography wrapped up in 2022, with the series filmed in both English and Nigerian Pidgin. This linguistic blend adds authenticity to the storyline, capturing the essence of local culture while delivering a modern narrative.
The series will air exclusively on Africa Magic Showcase, with new episodes every Sunday starting October 20, 2024.
