Africa Magic has announced the premiere of its new original drama The Wig, set to debut on Feb. 21, 2026, on Africa Magic Showcase.
The upcoming thriller stars Mary Lazarus and Okey Uzoshi, with supporting performances from Susan Jimah. The network shared details of the project, including its cast and premise, in a post on Instagram.
The Wig follows a struggling Nollywood actress whose fortunes change after she discovers a mysterious wig that appears to transform her career. As her sudden rise brings fame and financial reward, it also introduces consequences that threaten to undo her progress.
The project arrives as part of Africa Magic’s February slate, which recently featured the three-part film Employee of the Year. With its focus on ambition, superstition and the pressures of the film industry, The Wig continues the network’s rollout of locally produced original stories.
