Three short films produced by MultiChoice Talent Factory West Africa’s 2024 class premiered on Zee World Africa on May 25, in observance of Africa Day.
The broadcast—airing from 12–2 PM on DStv channel 166 and GOtv channel 30—marked a notable collaboration aimed at bringing authentic African narratives to viewers in India.
According to MultiChoice Talent Factory West Africa’s Instagram announcement, the event was billed as “Africa takes India,” underscoring the platform’s goal of transcending borders through local storytelling.

The films featured were:
- “Irin Ajo,” written by AMVCA winner Myde Glover and starring Timilehin Ojeola and Nneoma Onyekwele. The story follows Manuel, his wife Trish, and their daughter Chi as they visit Trish’s estranged family. Uncovered secrets force Manuel to reevaluate everything their family had built.
- “Isekonu,” directed by Adejo “Story Priest” Emmanuel and starring Adun Osilowo and Seun Kentebe. The film centers on Iyore, a young widow accused of infidelity after her husband’s mysterious death. To prove her innocence, she submits to traditional widowhood rituals while grappling with her own past choices.
- “Nne,” by Thecla Uzozie, featuring Michael Ejoor and Jasmine Howson-Wright Ekumah. This drama explores postpartum psychosis as Sarah faces immense pressure to bear a son and win her mother-in-law’s approval. Her mental health crisis highlights postpartum depression in a cultural context.

The broadcast represents a milestone for MultiChoice Talent Factory, which aims to develop African storytellers and expand the reach of their work internationally.
Each film addresses a distinct social issue—family dynamics, cultural rites, and mental health—demonstrating the program’s commitment to meaningful, resonant storytelling.
