Produced by Rise Interactive Studios and Rise Networks, the film integrates technology and storytelling, offering a fresh perspective on the continent’s digital evolution.

Before its Nigerian premiere, “Makemation” gained international recognition through exclusive screenings at the 2024 Global AI Summit in Riyadh, the Kenya Innovation Week, and a private viewing at the U.S. Consul General’s residence in Lagos. Following its nationwide release, the film will be distributed across other African countries, the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East from May 2025.

The film features a diverse cast, combining Nollywood stars, tech experts, policymakers, and digital influencers. Notable actors include Richard Mofe-Damijo, Shaffy Bello, Tomi Ojo, Yvonne Jegede, Tony Umez, Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha, Jide Kosoko, and Chuks Joseph.

Directed by Michael “AMA PSALMIST” Akinrogunde, “Makemation” presents a family-friendly narrative that delves into AI’s role in solving Africa’s pressing challenges while maintaining a balance of humor, drama, and inspiration.

More than entertainment, “Makemation” serves as an educational tool, addressing themes like STEM education, financial literacy, and gender inclusion in technology.

According to creator and producer Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji, the film is designed to spark discussions on AI’s impact while advocating for equitable access to digital resources.

Shot across various locations, from rural communities to high-tech urban spaces, “Makemation” stands out for its striking cinematography, original score, and thought-provoking themes. Its release is expected to contribute to ongoing conversations on Africa’s place in the global digital landscape.

Distributed by Nile Entertainment and produced by a team of young creatives, “Makemation” represents a fusion of Africa’s creative and technological ambitions. As anticipation builds, audiences are invited to engage in discussions about the continent’s digital future through the film’s official platforms.
