Amazon Studios has officially announced the development of a new instalment in the “James Bond” film series, marking the first major production since the tech giant gained creative control of the 007 franchise.
The update was shared during CinemaCon by studio executives Courtenay Valenti and Sue Kroll, who revealed that producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman have already begun early production work in London.
Pascal and Heyman, known respectively for their work on the “Spider-Man” and “Harry Potter” films, are expected to bring a fresh perspective to the long-running franchise. “We are committed to honouring the legacy of this iconic character while bringing a fresh, exotic new chapter to audiences around the world,” the executives said.
This development follows Amazon’s deal with long-time Bond custodians Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, giving the company full creative authority over the franchise.
While plot details remain under wraps, the announcement has reignited speculation about potential changes, including the possibility of Daniel Craig reprising his role as the iconic British spy.
The “James Bond” character, originally created by novelist Ian Fleming, has remained a defining figure in global pop culture.
