The John Wick universe is expanding with the release of the first trailer for “Ballerina”, featuring Cuban-Spanish actress Ana de Armas in the lead role.
Officially titled “From the World of John Wick: Ballerina”, the film offers a fresh look into the assassin world, previously made famous by Keanu Reeves’ character.
Directed by Len Wiseman and written by Shay Hatten, “Ballerina” introduces viewers to Eve Macarro, played by de Armas, a ballerina turned assassin.
The trailer, spanning just over two minutes, showcases Eve being recruited and trained by Winston Scott (Ian McShane), a key figure in the John Wick saga. In a surprise reveal, Keanu Reeves’ John Wick, thought to be dead in the previous film, also makes an appearance.
The film marks the final on-screen performance of Lance Reddick, who tragically passed away in March 2023.
Set to release in cinemas on June 6, 2025, “Ballerina” is expected to follow the success of previous John Wick films. Lionsgate is banking on its strong fan base, especially after “John Wick: Chapter 4” grossed over $400 million globally, bringing the franchise’s total earnings to more than $800 million.
“Ballerina” will be released theatrically on June 6, 2025, watch the trailer here.
