Anya Taylor-Joy is set to headline Netflix’s adaptation of Bella Mackie’s novel “How to Kill Your Family,” marking her return to the streaming platform that earned her a Golden Globe for “The Queen’s Gambit.”
The eight-episode series will feature Taylor-Joy as Grace Bernard, a young woman who meticulously plots to eliminate every member of her estranged family, beginning with her millionaire father who refused aid to her dying mother.
Taylor-Joy will also serve as an executive producer alongside Mackie and lead writer Emma Moran. Lee Morris, Lizzie Rushbridger, and Sally Woodward Gentle round out the executive production team.
The project represents the first collaboration between Netflix and Sid Gentle Film Ltd., the production company behind the upcoming series.
While Taylor-Joy’s involvement is confirmed, details about additional cast members and the production schedule remain under wraps.
This dark comedy adaptation continues Netflix’s strategy of leveraging star power and literary properties to attract viewers in an increasingly competitive streaming landscape.
