Veteran filmmaker Austin Faani kicked off the year with the world premiere of his action thriller “Red Alert” in Dallas, Texas, on March 9, 2025.
The film, which explores love, betrayal, and power struggles within the drug cartel world, marks Faani’s return to the director’s chair while also handling editing duties.
Co-produced by Kizzy Uzoma, a Nigerian-born heavyweight champion making his filmmaking debut, “Red Alert” is set to screen in several U.S. cities, including Houston, Maryland, Atlanta, and New York, before its anticipated release in Nigerian cinemas.
The film stars Jidekene Achufusi and Kizzy Uzoma, alongside Tina Mba, Alex Usifo, Chika Eke, and Linda Osifo.
Speaking at the premiere, Achufusi highlighted the growing collaboration between Hollywood and Nollywood.
“Hollywood and Nollywood are all one. Thanks to Kizzy, we are constantly trying to cross the divide to create a combined front, and I know this is the beginning of new things,” he said.
As “Red Alert” continues its U.S. tour, anticipation builds for its arrival in Nigerian cinemas, where it is expected to make a strong impact on the action-thriller genre.
