Behind The Scenes, the latest Nollywood release from actor and producer Funke Akindele, has recorded the biggest opening weekend of 2025, grossing ₦205.5 million in cinemas.
According to figures released by its distributor, FilmOne, the film also posted the highest weekend admissions of the year, selling 34,548 tickets between December 12 and 14. The performance makes Behind The Scenes the first Nollywood title in 2025 to cross the ₦200 million mark in its opening weekend.
The thriller surpassed the ₦113 million opening weekend record set by Akindele’s Everybody Loves Jenifa, further strengthening her box office track record. It also moved ahead of Now You See Me 3, which stood at ₦176.5 million after five weeks in cinemas.

Other titles currently in the box office rankings include Zootopia 2, which has grossed ₦54.5 million in three weeks, and the Nollywood epic Warlord, which stands at ₦120.4 million over the same period.
Starring Uzor Arukwe and Scarlet Gomez, Behind The Scenes opened strongly across cinemas nationwide, positioning it as one of the most commercially successful Nollywood releases of the year so far.
