Behind The Scenes (BTS), a Nollywood thriller produced and co-directed by Funke Akindele, has emerged as the film with the highest cinema admissions in Nigeria for 2025. The film recorded a total of 223,768 admissions, leading all titles released during the year.
According to data released by the Nigerian Box Office, the rankings cover the period from January 1 to December 31, 2025. Despite opening late in December, Behind The Scenes outperformed films that had longer theatrical runs earlier in the year.
Akindele’s previous blockbuster, Everybody Loves Jenifa, followed in second place with 148,863 admissions. Ryan Coogler’s horror film Sinners ranked third, drawing 131,148 cinema-goers nationwide.

Female-led heist thriller Gingerrr placed fourth with 101,852 admissions. Produced by Wunmi Toriola, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori (Kiekie), Bolaji Ogunmola, and Bisola Aiyeola, the film reinforced the commercial strength of women-led collaborations at the box office.
Overall, Nollywood titles dominated cinema attendance in 2025, accounting for six entries in the top ten. Films such as Reel Love, Oversabi Aunty, and Ori: The Rebirth outperformed several Hollywood releases, signalling a strong resurgence of local content in Nigerian cinemas.
