Funke Akindele’s Behind The Scenes and Toyin Abraham’s Oversabi Aunty maintained their dominance at the Nigerian box office over the weekend, recording major earnings milestones. Both films remain among the strongest theatrical performers of the year.
According to figures released by the Nigerian Box Office, Behind The Scenes crossed the ₦2 billion mark, becoming the highest-grossing Nollywood title to date. The FilmOne Entertainment-distributed thriller continues to lead weekly earnings despite entering its fifth weekend in cinemas.
The film, starring Uzor Arukwe and Scarlet Gomez, has also recorded strong performances in international markets, including the United Kingdom and Ireland. The sustained run further extends Akindele’s recent streak of box office success.
Meanwhile, Oversabi Aunty continued its steady climb, grossing ₦864.1 million to date. The comedy has now become the highest-grossing release from Toyin Abraham Productions and remains on track toward the ₦1 billion mark.

Beyond the two Nollywood titles, James Cameron’s Avatar 3 held the third position for the week, adding ₦40.5 million to reach a cumulative ₦548 million in four weeks. Odunlade Adekola’s Warlord: Olori Ogun rounded out the top ten with ₦154.3 million after seven weeks.
Other local titles also posted notable performances, with Colours of Fire and A Very Dirty Christmas crossing the ₦100 million threshold. The results highlight the continued strength of Nigerian films amid a competitive box office landscape.
