Terra Academy for the Arts (TAFTA), a creative school founded by renowned Nollywood director Bolanle Austen-Peters, has celebrated the graduation of its third cohort of students.
The graduation ceremony showcased the academy’s commitment to fostering creativity and excellence, as graduates were launched into the world of the arts.
Austen-Peters expressed her gratitude for an idea that has metamorphosed into a movement, revealing that the Academy has graduated over 30,000 creatives so far.
“Our third cohort graduation—what started as a quiet dream during COVID has now touched over 30,000 lives. From online courses to physical workshops in Ogun, Lagos, and Kano, we’ve built more than just skills—we’ve built confidence, community, and hope,” she wrote.
She also emphasized that women are taking up spaces in the Academy by stepping into technical roles once considered impossible.
“Women are now stepping boldly into technical roles once seen as off-limits—running sound, building sets, owning their space—and that makes me incredibly proud. Sometimes I still have to pinch myself. From an idea to a movement—we’re just getting started. Grateful. Humbled. Inspired,” she added.
With its consistent courses and workshops, Austen-Peters’ TAFTA Academy continues to push the knowledge of the arts among Nigerian creatives.
