Stitches, one of BRS Studios’ slated feature films for 2025, is set to make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), scheduled for September 4–14, 2025 in Canada.
The announcement was shared via Instagram on August 25, by veteran actress Dakore Egbuson-Akande, who started and produced the film.
Directed by award-winning Ghanaian filmmaker Shirley Frimpong-Manso, Stitches follows Boma, a gifted fashion designer who rises from modest beginnings to compete in an elite fashion scene where glamour and pressure often collide.

Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Regina Askia, Adaobi Dibor, Obinna Okenwa, and Tosan Anyafulu lead the film’s ensemble cast.
Other cast members include Jemima Osunde, Tomi Ojo, celebrity stylist Swanky Jerry, Frank Edoho, Chimezie Imo, and Lawal Nasiru (Nasboi).
Produced by Chris Odeh and set against the backdrop of Lagos, Stitches is one of the 10 selections for TIFF’s Industry Selects programme, positioning it among the festival’s promising global titles for acquisition and distribution.

For BRS Studios, founded by the trio; Joy Efe Odiete, Ramsey Nouah, and Odeh, Stitches TIFF selection represents another significant milestone after Netflix’s hit, Tokunbo (2024).
