Funke Akindele’s Behind The Scenes (BTS) has retained its position as the highest-grossing film in Nigerian box office history, continuing its run at the top in its sixth week in cinemas. The Nollywood thriller has now grossed a total of ₦2.29 billion nationwide.
Maintaining its momentum in second place is Toyin Abraham’s comedy-drama Oversabi Aunty, which is closing in on the ₦1 billion mark. The film is currently ₦49 million shy of the milestone, which would mark the first time the actress-producer crosses the ₦1 billion threshold as a lead producer.
Compared to the previous weekend, both films recorded slower additional earnings. Behind The Scenes added ₦113.1 million this week, down from ₦168.9 million recorded the week before. Oversabi Aunty earned an additional ₦53.3 million, a decline from its ₦80.3 million haul last weekend. Despite the drop, the film remains on track to reach the ₦1 billion mark in the coming weeks if current attendance levels are sustained.
James Cameron’s Avatar 3 held steady in third place, earning ₦24.9 million, representing a 38.5 per cent decline from its ₦40.5 million earnings the previous weekend.
After debuting in fourth place with ₦10 million last week, Greenland 2: Migration slipped to seventh position, adding ₦6.2 million to its total.

Elsewhere on the chart, Niyi Akinmolayan’s Colours of Fire maintained its fifth-place ranking, while Ini Edo’s A Very Dirty Christmas dropped from eighth to ninth position as its box office performance slowed.
Nollywood titles continued to dominate the Nigerian box office this week, reinforcing the industry’s strong theatrical pull and sustained audience support for locally produced films over Hollywood releases.
