Burna Boy and Pheelz are set to be featured on Grammy-winning American R&B superstar Usher’s forthcoming studio album “Coming Home,” slated for release Feb. 9, 2024.
The 20-track album from the multi-platinum artist also contains appearances from hip hop and R&B acts like Latto, 21 Savage, Summer Walker, H.E.R. and Jung Kook. It will land right after Usher’s headlining the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show performance.
For Afrobeats giant Burna Boy, the team-up follows several recent high-profile collabs with the likes of 21 Savage and Ed Sheeran as the Nigerian sound gains more global influence. Producer-artist Pheelz continues his own breakthrough run with the Usher cosign, after hits like “Finesse (Remix)” with French Montana expanded his crossover appeal.
As African talents increasingly integrate with the upper tiers of the American music industry, Pheelz and Burna Boy’s appearances on such a marquee project from Usher signal the strengthening bridges between US R&B/hip hop and Nigerian pop culture.
The album “Coming Home” drops via RCA Records and Sony Music Entertainment.
