DC Productions Completes Principal Photography for “143” Romance Drama

DC Productions has wrapped principal photography for its 2024 feature film “143.” Written and produced by Diana Childs, known for her work on “Flaws” and “Mirrors,” the movie is directed by Jide “Jblaze” Oyegbile. This project marks another milestone for the fast-rising filmmaker.

While official plot details are yet to be disclosed, Childs provided some insight into the film’s unique premise. “143” centers on an older woman dating a younger man, offering a fresh perspective on Nigerian romance narratives.

The ensemble cast features a mix of seasoned and emerging talents. Veteran actress Tina Mba, known for her versatile roles in Nollywood, stars alongside Baaj Adebule and Obinna Okenwa, both of whom are rising stars in the industry. This blend of experienced actors with new talent aims to bring a dynamic energy to the film.

In an exclusive interview with The Nollywood Reporter, Diana Childs discussed the inspiration behind “143.” She stated, “I wanted to explore the other side of traditional stories where an older woman falls for a much younger man. Is age truly just a number?”

She also shared her positive experiences working with the cast. “Working with Tina Mba was absolutely amazing; she was warm and welcoming. Obinna Okenwa is a producer’s delight—professional and open to new ideas.”

Childs hopes that “143” will convey a powerful message about love. “The key message is—love always wins,” she said. This film aims to challenge conventional narratives and offer audiences a new perspective on age and romance in Nigerian cinema.
