“Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” Surpasses $616M at Global Box Office
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle continues to dominate the global box office, crossing $616 million worldwide and cementing its place as the highest-grossing anime film in history.
The Crunchyroll-produced sequel to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba now ranks as the sixth-highest grossing film of 2025.
The film has achieved what many thought impossible—beating the year’s top superhero titles. After surpassing Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps ($521 million), Infinity Castle has now outperformed DC Studios’ Superman, which capped its run at $615.9 million, making it the highest-earning comic book movie of the year.
Much of its revenue has come from Japan and the United States. Domestically, the film grossed $2.6 million in its 11th weekend, dropping just 39.5% for a $236.2 million total, according to box office analyst Luiz Fernando. In Japan, its ¥34.83 billion cume places it as the second-highest grossing film in the nation’s history. With admissions now within 100,000 of Spirited Away’s 24.3 million, it is expected to become the country’s second-most attended film as early as next week.
In the U.S., the anime earned $7.1 million in its third weekend, a 59% drop that pushed it out of the top three, but still a notable run after spending two weeks at No. 1.
Globally, Infinity Castle has already passed Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning ($598.8 million) and is closing in on Brad Pitt’s F1 ($626.5 million).
