Global streaming giant Netflix has announced its upcoming heist thriller “Here Comes The Flood,” with a powerhouse cast led by Denzel Washington, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Robert Pattinson.
The news, which hit media airwaves on May 14, 2025, revealed that “Here Comes The Flood” will follow a bank guard, a teller and a master thief in an unconventional heist with high stakes.
The thriller will be helmed by “City of God” director Fernando Meirelles, who also shares production credit with Simon Kinberg and Audrey Chon. Samson Mucke joins as executive producer.
Kingberg, known for his writing credits in the “X-Men” franchise and “The 355,” penned the script of “Here Comes The Flood.”
Following a competitive bidding war, the original script of the film was acquired by Netflix in 2020. Nearly five years later, production is finally set to kick off.
“Here Comes the Flood”serves as a return to Netflix for Meirelles after the success of “The Two Popes.” Production on the upcoming heist thriller will begin this fall. (October–November 2025).
