Dika Ofoma’s short film God’s Wife has been officially selected for the 2025 Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival , TT Film Festival, where it will have its premiere in the Caribbean as part of the Break the Frame Short Programme running from September 24 to 30 in One Woodbroom Place, Trinidad and Tobago.
The film stands out as the only Nigerian entry in the category, marking a significant moment for Nollywood representation on the international stage.
Other films featured in the Break the Frame lineup include Black Girl in the Ring by Saeed Thomas and Joshua Paul, To Kill a Man by Orlando Mora Cabrera, Blue Pandora by Ian González, Paradise by Rebecca Williams, and Sonshine by Kaleb D’Aguilar.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Trade and Tourism/Global Trinidad and Tobago, the festival will showcase over 100 films from 20 countries, selected from more than 400 submissions. discussions, and legal and industry advisory events.
Another major highlight of the festival is the screening of Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story, directed by Alison Duke, featuring appearances from Janelle Monáe, Young Guru, and Peter Rock.
God’s Wife follows a widow (played by Onyinye Odokoro) who is faced with the threat of being ousted from her husband’s house. The selection adds to the growing list of accolades for the short film.
