EbonyLife’s Dust to Dreams has been selected for the eighth edition of the Joburg Film Festival, joining a lineup of African productions and international Oscar contenders at the 2026 event, scheduled to take place from March 3 to March 8 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The festival, themed “Feel the Frame,” positions cinema as a multisensory craft, highlighting the interplay of image, sound, emotion, and atmosphere in storytelling.
This year’s official selection features a mix of emerging and established filmmakers from across Africa and beyond. Joining Dust to Dreams are titles such as Tukki, which previously screened at the Africa International Film Festival in 2025, as well as And She Didn’t Die, Angelina Jolie’s Coutures, Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor’s Dreamers, Zoey Martinson’s The Fisherman, The Heart Is a Muscle, and Owell: 2+2=5.
The festival will also screen several films nominated for Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Awards, including It Was Just an Accident and The Voice of Hind Rajab.
Held annually in Johannesburg, the Joburg Film Festival continues its focus on showcasing African and global cinema through diverse storytelling and filmmaking talent.
