The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, caused alarm on social media after a cryptic message appeared on his Facebook page, stating, “by this time tomorrow it would end.”
The post immediately drew reactions from fans and colleagues, many expressing concern for his well-being.
“It is well with you, sir. To those very close to Mr. Rollas, kindly check on him, please. May the peace of Jehovah be with you now and always,” one commenter wrote. Another said, “Good morning, sir. I’m in your inbox.” Others called for urgent intervention, with one person adding, “Please, someone close to him should take the necessary action.”
Following the outpouring of concern, The Nollywood Reporter reached out to actor and filmmaker Emeka Jude Ossai, who confirmed that Rollas’ account had been hacked, putting to rest speculations about the cryptic post.
The incident follows recent personal and professional challenges for Rollas, including the loss of his mother-in-law, whom he described as a significant pillar in his life. Earlier this year, reports also circulated about his alleged arrest in Umuahia, which he and the Nigeria Police Force later debunked.
As the AGN president, Rollas has been at the forefront of Nollywood’s industry affairs, making his sudden social media post all the more alarming to those who look up to him. With Ossai’s clarification, the focus now shifts to securing Rollas’ digital presence and preventing further miscommunications.
