The veteran filmmaker is set to mentor participants on festival programming and African storytelling
Nigerian filmmaker and writer Femi Odugbemi has been named one of 15 facilitators for the 2025 Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) Residency.
Odugbemi will mentor participants on the role of film festivals in curating and promoting African stories globally.
Other announced facilitators include Fibby Kioria, Romeo Umulisa, Cornelia Glele, Paul Rieth, Andrea Voges, Ibee Ndaw, and Ikenna Ezenyirioha.

Also part of the team are Julie Nederkoorn, Keith Shiri, Azza Elhosseiny, Moustapha Sawadogo, Carmen Thompson, Tambay Obenson, and Ana Camila.
The DIFF Residency, held in partnership with Mucii Pictures, runs from July 14 to 21, 2025, in Durban, South Africa.

Now in its 46th edition, the DIFF Residency brings together eight Festival Directors for curated workshops on programming strategy, network-building, and sustainable festival management. Facilitators are expected to lead planning sessions and creative discussions throughout the weeklong programme.
The broader 2025 Durban International Film Festival, which kicked off on July 17, will run until July 27.
