The upcoming Nigerian adaptation of Ruth and Naomi explores grief, love and second chances.
Five 2 Media, Bikiya Graham-Douglas Return with Female-Led Drama “Remi X Nneoma”
Five 2 Media Entertainment has announced its next feature project, “Remi X Nneoma,” a Nigerian drama inspired by the biblical story of Ruth and Naomi.
Co-produced by the company’s founder Solate Ovundah-Akarolo and actress Bikiya Graham-Douglas, the upcoming film will be released in 2026, although an official date has not yet been communicated.

Directed by Lyndsey Efejuku, “Remi X Nneoma” follows two women; Nneoma and her daughter-in-law Remi who remain together in Ikwerre after a shared loss. As they navigate widowhood, social judgment and personal healing, Remi finds new love, pushing both women toward emotional renewal.
The cast includes Bisola Aiyeola as Remi, Liz Benson Ameye as Nneoma, and supporting performances from Uche Montana, Ifeanyi Kalu, Eucharia Anunobi, Martha Ehinome, Kunle Coker, Kelechi Udegbe, and Tina Mba. The screenplay is by Priye Diri and Adelarin Awotedu.

“This film is about more than survival. It’s about reinvention,” said Efejuku. Graham-Douglas called the story “a celebration of women’s agency and intergenerational love,” while Ovundah-Akarolo described it as “personal and universal.”

The project reunites Graham-Douglas and Ovundah-Akarolo following earlier collaborations including “Xtra Mile,” which won Best International Feature at the Toronto Nollywood International Film Festival. “Remi X Nneoma” also features Kalinè as music supervisor, known for her work on “Breathe of Life” and “After 30.”
International screenings are expected after the film’s national release.
