Funke Akindele announces “Behind The Scenes” for December 2025

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has announced that her latest project, Behind The Scenes, will hit cinemas nationwide on Christmas Day, 2025.

Akindele revealed the news in an Instagram video shared on Sunday as part of her 48th birthday celebration. In the post, she expressed gratitude to her fans and to God while describing the film as a project close to her heart.

“It’s my birthday today, and I feel so fulfilled. I’m graciously grateful to God for the grace to keep telling our stories… I’m using this special day to reveal my blockbuster movie, which premieres in December 2025, ‘Behind The Scenes’!!!!! Expect something intriguing, captivating, and powerful. This one is very close to my heart, and I can’t wait for you all to experience it. Thank you for always riding with me. The journey continues…” she wrote.

According to the actress, Behind The Scenes will explore the struggles and realities often hidden from the spotlight, promising a story that resonates beyond the surface glamour.

The announcement comes on the heels of Akindele’s massive success with Everybody Loves Jenifa, which grossed ₦1.7 billion at the box office in 2024 and is set to debut on Prime Video later this month.
