Gingerrr, the Nollywood heist thriller led by an all-women producing team, has crossed the N500 million mark at the Nigerian box office, marking its strongest milestone since release.
The updated figures were shared by producer and cast member Bisola Aiyeola, who posted the film’s latest earnings on Instagram alongside a breakdown of its current achievements.
According to the update, Gingerrr is now the highest-grossing Nollywood release of 2025, the fifth-highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time, and the top Nollywood title across eight consecutive weeks. It also holds the record for the highest-grossing film across five straight weekends and the highest-grossing September release.
With the new earnings, Gingerrr climbs from eighth to fifth place on Nollywood’s all-time box office chart, overtaking Toyin Abraham’s Alakada: Bad and Boujee, as well as Kemi Adetiba’s The Wedding Party and The Wedding Party 2.
The film, directed by Yemi Morafa, follows four women who are drawn into a high-stakes heist after a series of desperate circumstances. It now sits directly behind Funke Akindele’s four top-performing titles: Everybody Loves Jenifa, A Tribe Called Judah, Omo Ghetto: The Saga, and Battle on Buka Street.
Gingerrr’s continued momentum has sparked conversations about whether it could surpass one of Akindele’s long-standing hits if its strong box office run continues in the coming weeks.
